Our Chef/Owner

I, Avery Sheppard, am the owner and cook. When I’m not cooking I have my staff trained to cook to my desired perfection. I was born and raised on Manitoulin Island, I am a sixth generation in my family’s fish business and have grown up eating and cooking fish my entire life. I strive to bring the freshest and best-tasting fish to my customers.

Food & Drinks

Purvis’s Specialty – Our main food is fish and chips, it is fresh caught daily out of the North Channel by the fish Tug ‘The Purvis’ that is docked beside the restaurant. The fish is then taken to the processing plant, then picked up and delivered to the restaurant. Purvis Fish & Chips guarantees you the freshest fish on Manitoulin Island as the owner lives beside the processing plant and brings the fresh fish daily to the restaurant. We also serve 3 different homemade tartar sauces with our fish and chips. We are home to a blooming onion, this appetizer is very hard to find and is one of our best sellers. 
 
Food & Drinks – Our fresh fish is fried to order in an English-style batter. If you’re not a fish lover we offer multiple other options like: chicken, tacos, burgers, chicken fingers, and Island made hotdogs. We also have a wide variety of appetizers such as fish bites and chippers. We are licensed to serve beer, coolers, and wine and also have local beer on tap.
